NeoGenomics is looking for a Scientist who wants to learn to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is an onsite position in Cambridge, UK with a Monday - Friday, day shift. This is a fixed term contract position through 2027 and possibly beyond.

Position Summary: 

As a Scientist you will be able to apply your deep expertise in assay design and validation to further the development exisiting projects. You role will include hands-on experience in sequencing data analysis and interpretation. You will work across wet-lab and data analysis workflows and plays a key role in assay development, validation, troubleshooting, and high-quality data delivery in a regulated laboratory environment

Responsibilities:

  • Design, optimize, and validate primers/probes for NGS applications
  • Hands-on execution of wet-lab testing for NGS workflows
  • Perform variant calling, alignment review, and quality assessment for NGS datasets
  • Identify and troubleshoot data quality issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Support assay development, RUO/LDT validations, troubleshooting, and performance optimization

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree, PhD strongly preferred in Life, Physical or Computer Science
  • At least two years of applied experience with Molecular (NGS) platform and assay development
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of laboratory and/or analytical techniques
  • Develop and deliver complex directions and scientific project plans
  • Capture and record complex scientific data accurately and reliably with attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively through written and verbal presentations and use software tools to produce high-impact data presentations
  • Problem solve independently and escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
